Republican candidates for national office always advertise that they want to cut spending. It is true that the Biden team added a whole lot of spending early in his term. When talking about expenditures, I believe that it is very important to ask what we have gotten for the money. Biden’s programs have been earmarked for infrastructure, improving medical care, and combating climate change.
Go anywhere and you can see massive infrastructure projects in various stages of completion. More people have health insurance coverage through the expanded Affordable Care Act, which began as Obamacare. We are also seeing prices plummet on some high-profile medicines such as insulin. Progress on climate issues is not as dramatic but that only makes it a higher priority in order to protect the future for our children and grandchildren.
Looking at President Biden’s record, it is at least LBJ-ish and borders on FDR-ish. Think about the lifestyle of a 70-year-old relative or friend. What would they do without Medicare and Social Security?
Please join me in voting for the Biden ticket in November so that the administration can continue its vision for the people of our country.
