Kylie Jenner just put a French Riviera twist on the bubble skirt trend

We have some news: the bubble skirt is back, baby! This type of skirt, featuring a voluminous hem and oodles of fabric, was a major staple of 1980s style while also enjoying a major resurgence during the mid to late aughts – two fashion eras which are having a major resurgence as of late.

On the runway, designers like Aaron Esh, Louis Vuitton, 16 Arlington and Jacquemus have all been championing the style while celebs like Sabrina Carpenter, Cindy Kimberley, Selena Gomez and Sienna Miller (who announced her second pregnancy via a red carpet appearance while wearing a midriff-baring two-piece featuring, you guessed it, a bubble skirt) have all become major proponents of the look.

And now, our queen Kylie Jenner has hopped on the trend. In new snaps shared to her IG, the reality tv icon and entrepreneur can be seen wearing a v chic take on a bubble skirt. Wearing her hair loose and minimal makeup, she’s rocking a simple straw hat and what appears to be a cream linen two-piece consisting of a strappy crop top with a ribbon tie at the back and a voluminous mini skirt.

She’s accessorised with not one, but two, gold watches (I can’t help but wonder if they are they set to different time zones? Who knows!) and is posed stretched out against the handrail of a ship deck set against the backdrop of a blue af sea and cloudless sky.
