Kartik Aaryan shares before-and-after pictures of his physical transformation for Chandu Champion: From insomniac to fitness enthusiast – Times of India

Kartik Aaryan has amazed his fans with a remarkable physical transformation for his role as India’s first Paralympics gold medallist, Murlikant Petkar, in the upcoming sports drama Chandu Champion, directed by Kabir Khan.

On Friday, Kartik shared his before-and-after pictures on social media, showcasing his journey from having a belly flop to sporting lean, chiselled muscles. He captioned the post, “From 39% body fat to 7% body fat!! From being an ‘insomniac’ to turning into a ‘fitness enthusiast’, it’s surely a journey of one and a half years to remember for me. The life of the living legend Mr. Murlikant Petkar not only made me a stronger human being but also, further installed the belief that if you can dream it, then you can achieve it… nothing is impossible Pehle mummy kehti thi, ‘beta gym jao’ lekin aaj kal haalaat aise hain ki unhe call karke bolna padta hai, ‘beta gym se vapas aa jao.’”

Kartik recently revealed that the transformation was exhausting since he was a big foodie and was eating anything and everything without any restrictions. He also shared that the process was mentally challenging.

He shared, “This entire process was terrible in a way. As I said, I am a big foodie, so for me, not to have food–mujhe jab tak roti, rice, khane ke baad meetha.. ye saari cheezein chahiye… mere saare shauk sab hata diye gaye the. My sleeping pattern was so bad before this. So when we started this, I had to get a proper eight hours of deep sleep.”

He continued, “I started counting calories, burning calories, so there was an automatic shift… my life became robotic and monotonous. Because I used to eat the same food — the meal that was decided. For 1.5 to 2 years, I used to have soup at night and sleep and had no social life. I used to go to my home, gym, swimming pool, and then return to my home.”

Chandu Champion, jointly produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir Khan, will be released in theatres on June 14.
