Jim Schlossnagle contract buyout: What Texas baseball coach owes Aggies after leaving for Longhorns

Before the 2024 NCAA Tournament, then Texas A&M baseball coach Jim Schlossngale joined Cedric Golden and Kirk Bohls on the On Second Thought podcast.
Less than 24 hours after telling reporters he didn’t plan on ever taking another college baseball job, Texas A&M baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle is set to take the reins at Texas, the Austin American-Statesman confirmed Tuesday.
Schlossnagle, who fell in Game 3 of the College World Series final to No. 1 Tennessee on Monday night, said after the 6-5 loss that “I took the job at Texas A&M to never take another job again, and that hasn’t changed in my mind.”

The 53-year-old took the Aggies to the CWS twice in his three seasons in College Station, holding a 135-62 record at the program. He took the Texas A&M job after 18 seasons at TCU, where he led the Horned Frogs to the CWS five times.
Texas likely had to pay up to swoon Schlossnagle to leave Texas A&M, which not only achieved its highest-ever NCAA baseball tournament seed (No. 3) in 2024, but also reached the College World Series finals for the first time in program history.
As Schlossnagle takes over for Texas baseball, here’s what you need to know bout his contract and buyout information with the Aggies:
