Jason Kelce: Travis ‘hasn’t changed one bit’ since dating Taylor Swift
Jason Kelce says his brother, Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce, hasn’t let Taylor Swift’s superstardom phase him.
The former Eagles center shared his thoughts on his brother’s exponential rise in fame since starting a relationship with Swift in the fall on the “Whiskey Ginger with Andrew Santino” podcast on Friday.
“I haven’t seen him change one bit,” Jason said. “I think it’s a compliment. He’s stayed true to himself; he’s still humble, he treats everyone with the utmost respect like they’re equals, regardless of who they are.”
Travis and Swift have been the center of the sports and entertainment worlds since their relationship went public last year, most notably when Swift attended her first Chiefs game to support who was her then-rumored beau.
The two have had anything but a normal courtship, as Swift was in the middle of the first U.S. leg of the Eras Tour when she and Travis met.
Swift continued to support Travis from a suite during the football season.
Swift even made it from an Eras Tour performance in Tokyo to see Travis play in the 2024 Super Bowl in Las Vegas, making it in just the nick of time.
Kelce, for his part, has made multiple appearances at Swift’s concerts across the globe.
“I think Trav, he’s a very comfortable person in almost any scenario. He’s such a unique individual. I’ve never seen him uncomfortable anywhere,” Jason continued on the podcast.
Still, Jason admits that it would be nearly impossible for his brother to be a “normal person” while dating the superstar.
“[My wife] Kylie and I think we have it bad and then we go hang out with one of them for a second,” he said. “This is a whole other situation here. … Like, you can’t be a normal person at that point.”
The comments come just after Kelce’s wife made headlines after getting into an argument with a fan verbally attacking her for refusing a photo op.
“I can smell the alcohol on your breath,” the mom of three told the fan. “You’re embarrassing yourself!”
The woman, later identified as Andreé Goldberg, has since apologized for her “out of character” behavior.
Jason, the “New Heights” podcast co-host, said that everyone in the Kelce family is “evolving” due to his brother’s high-profile romance, but that at their core they remain the same.
“I don’t think anybody has changed really,” he said.
