‘Inside Out 2’ earns title of 2024’s biggest movie, No. 1 second week in a row

“Inside Out 2” is capturing emotions — and piggy banks.

The Disney and Pixar kids film was No. 1 at the box office, and raked in $30.5 million on Friday, its second in theaters, The Numbers reported.

The story, a sequel to 2015’s “Inside Out,” centers around a 13-year-old dealing with her new emotions of Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment and Ennui, which are all characters in the film.

It already took home the title of highest earning film of 2024 so far, surpassing “Dune: Part Two,” which was released in March.

“Inside Out 2’s” earnings domestically are already $285.7 million, which beat the sci-fi flick, which took in $282 million, according to Variety.

It also has the potential to surpass “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” and have the largest earning second weekend ever for an animated film.

“Bad Boys: Ride or Die” remained in the second spot, with $5.25 million in sales.

“It is a world and characters that are just an absolute joy to be with … So, as long as there’s a reason — I never wanted to be one of those dudes who make sequels just because people will go, Smith told Entertainment Weekly.

“We always have so much fun making these movies and you’ve got to give the fans what they want,” added Lawrence.

“The Bikeriders” pedaled to the number three spot, with a just over $4 million dollar take on Friday, its opening day.

The Post called the crime drama, which tells the story of a fictional 1960s motorcycle club, “a pretty-good ‘Goodfellas’ riff.”

“The Garfield Movie” fell down a notch to fourth, with earnings of just over $1 million.

Also moving down a spot this Friday was “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” with sales of $1 million.
