Infrastructure open house to happen June 26 at UPBC

NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WLUC) – The public will soon have a chance to let Negaunee leaders know how they feel about the city’s infrastructure.

The city will host a State of Our Infrastructure Open House on June 26 at the Upper Peninsula Brewing Company (UPBC). You can learn about the city’s infrastructure through detailed maps showing the status of streets, water mains, sewer mains and sidewalks.

Negaunee City Manager Nate Heffron said staff will be there to answer questions.

“We’re going to talk about our next upcoming project that we’re proposing for our USDA phase 2 water project and USDA phase 1 sewer project, which entails fixing a lot of linear feed of pipes, but also paving a lot of streets at the same time,” Heffron said.

The open house starts June 26 at 7 p.m. and goes until 8:30 p.m.
