‘I’m a fitness expert – here are three moves I do every morning to feel younger’

Exercise is an important factor in our overall health and wellbeing. Not partaking in enough physical activity can massively increase our risk for dangerous health conditions and problems such as diabetes, obesity, dementia and heart disease.

For this reason it is important we try to pack a workout in whenever we can – no matter how low-impact.

This can be easier said than done though, especially considering how busy many of us are.

But one fitness guru shared her go-to routine that she does every morning to boost her energy levels and get her metabolism going.

Professional fitness coach Denise Austin, from the US, took to social media platform TikTok to reveal her “easy” three-step routine as part of her fit over 50 series.

The 67-year-old said: “Here are a few moves I do every single morning. I wake up, get energy and rev up my metabolism. Give them a try. Three easy moves.”

For the first move she stood with her feet shoulder width apart.

From here she punched out with one arm at a time going to the opposite side across the body. She bounced down on the knees with every punch.

“The first move works the waistline,” she told viewers.

“Working through the abdominals, the sides of your waist, the obliques, and punch that gives you energy, works the legs and your tummy. You can do it – one minute!”

Denise’s next step involved lunging with her legs so that the back leg was close to the floor.

She then lifted her back leg up while bringing the arms back.

“Here’s a great way to tone and shape up the bottom half to make it your better half,” Denise said.

“Take it down, squeeze your butt and lift your leg. Great for your hips, your thighs and your buttocks. Do 30 seconds on each leg. Really feel it.”

To finish she sat on the floor with her legs out in front of her and placed the hands behind her.

She lifted one leg up in the air and used her arms to dip up and down.

Denise added: “Time to tone your arms with the tricep dip. Lift your leg, go down and up. 10 with this leg up and 10 with the next leg, you can do it.”

Her followers were impressed with the routine, with many commenting on Denise’s youthful appearance.

One said: “She looks the same as she did decades ago. Way to go!”

Another commented: “You don’t age!”

And one said: “Thanks! I feel energy from just watching you.”
