Horizon Zero Dawn fans thrilled as Aloy officially returns
This morning, I woke up to news that I didn’t exactly want to hear: that Netflix’s live-action Horizon Zero Dawn series has reportedly been cancelled.
As a major fan of the franchise, I was intrigued to see what a live-action iteration might look like.
While, of course, it could still happen via another avenue (I’m looking at you HBO), I haven’t had too long to feel disappointed as a different Horizon-related release has been announced to be on the way.
I’m afraid it’s not a game, but rather a collectible – and you know us video game fans love a collectible figurine.
PlayStation has unveiled the new Shapes Collection, in collaboration with Spin Master, which will allow PlayStation users to purchase high-quality figurine versions of some of their favourite characters.
It goes without saying that Horizon’s Aloy has made the line-up.
ICYMI: Take a look at the latest trailer for LEGO Horizon Adventures below.
A six-inch figure of Aloy in her standard Horizon Forbidden West get-up is available for pre-order now on PlayStation Gear as well as Amazon in the US and Australia.
This is a deluxe collector grade figure with 42 points of articulation and 12 different accessories, including face plates and alternative hands.
The figures will begin shipping out in August and Aloy will set you back £48 / $49.99.
That’s not a bad price for a figure of this quality.

It isn’t the only familiar face on the way as Forbidden West’s Varl is set to follow, with a figure launching in September.
The Varl figurine will launch alongside God of War’s Kratos and Ghost of Tsushima’s Jin Sakai.
These will be made with 24-34 points of articulation and two to four accessories (varies by character) which is reflected in the slightly cheaper price point of £28.80 on PlayStation Gear.
Let’s not forget that LEGO Horizon Adventures is also on the way later this year.
We may still be awaiting news on the franchise’s next mainline entry but there’s no denying that Horizon fans continue to feast well.
