Home Run Derby highlights: Teoscar Hernández edges Bobby Witt Jr. in down-to-the-wire final
The 31-year-old Hernández beat Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. in the final Monday night at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Tex., to win this year’s event. He has 19 home runs this season. The All-Star Game is Tuesday night.
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm and Cleveland Guardians third baseman José Ramírez reached the semifinals. New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso, a two-time derby champion, and Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson, participating in the event for the first time, were eliminated in the first round.
