‘Hawk Tuah’ girl’s response to Donald Trump question has folks losing their minds on social media
We are now weeks — an eternity in social media time down — the road from the “Hawk Tuah” girl first blowing up and … well, she is still a dominating force on whatever platform you might frequent.
If you don’t know who the heck the “Hawk Tuah” girl is, congratulations because you have a life outside of social media. But if you are on social media, even just a little here and there, chances are you know well about the “Hawk Tuah” girl because the summer has belonged to her so far there.
She is evolving outside of social media and into the mainstream, though. For instance, she took the stage alongside country music star Zach Bryan at a recent concert.
And then she set the political world on fire on social media on Monday with an appearance on Barstool Sports’ Brianna Chickenfry’s “Plan Bri” podcast.
Chickenfry played a game with the “Hawk Tuah” girl, whose real name is Hailey Welch, and asked her if she would … well, she asked her about the line she is now famous for and how she might relate that to certain celebrities.
Be warned, if you don’t know what the “Hawk Tuah” line is and you Google it, it is adult in nature.
Anyway, one of the names Chickenfry threw out was Donald Trump.
“It’s a no from me,” Welch replied.
And that had folks losing their mind on social media.
It should be noted that this didn’t appear to be a question about political preference. It didn’t matter.
“BREAKING: The Hawk Tuah girl, AKA Hailey (Welch), has come out AGAINST Donald Trump in her first-ever interview,” Meidas Touch posted on X.
Trump supporter Laura Loomer retweeted the video and called her “a degenerate.”
“Stop giving skanks attention,” she wrote before getting decidedly more graphic before calling her a “typical Biden supporter.”
There were plenty more back-and-forth from the two sides of the political spectrum on this one, and at least one account that couldn’t believe that this was considered “breaking news.”
That person has a great point.
