Harlem’s Fashion Row hosts 6th Annual Designer Retreat
Harlem’s Fashion Row hosted its 6th Annual Designer Retreat earlier this month, offering an opportunity for underrepresented designers to engage with industry stakeholders and gain essential knowledge.
The three-day event, held in New York City, brought together approximately 75 designers from across the nation. Sponsored by PVH Corp., the parent company of Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, and Nike, attendees engaged with industry executives and took advantage of exclusive visits to corporate offices.
Notably, the retreat was headlined by Tommy Hilfiger. Other speakers included Inga Beckham, co-founder of Sergio Hudson, and business strategists Ifiok Inyang and Monk Inyang. These experts delivered key insights and strategies for success in the fashion industry.
Likewise, designers toured corporate offices such as PVH Corp., Calvin Klein, Macy’s, Saks, and Louis Vuitton, providing a unique look into the workings of some of the fashion industry’s most influential brands.
“This retreat is where inspiration meets opportunity,” said Brandice Daniels, CEO of Harlem’s Fashion Row. “We are extremely grateful to our sponsors PVH and Nike and to the experts who partnered with us to make this a reality.”
Harlem’s Fashion Row was founded in 2007. It supports emerging talent and provides a platform for underrepresented Black and Latinx designers.
