Hamilton sets multiple new F1 records in British GP blitz
In securing victory at the British Grand Prix to end a long victory drought stretching to 945 days since December 5th, 2021, Lewis Hamilton set a number of new F1 records.
For a driver who already sports most of the major records on his CV and is the most successful driver of all-time, Hamilton was unduly emotional after the Silverstone race.
It ended a run of 56 races since the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix without a win, during which time, Max Verstappen has won 42 times and bagged three world championships.
Victory was Hamilton’s ninth at the British GP, breaking the record for most wins at a single grand prix, eclipsing the benchmark of eight he previously held with Michael Schumacher (France) and himself in Hungary.
It was just one of a number of records Hamilton broke – some being more obvious than others.
NOTE: Records just as laps being led and points scored are not included.
