GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties Update download goes live early – RockstarINTEL

The upcoming GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties DLC is now available to download ahead of its official release on June 25th. Much like how the San Andreas Mercenaries and The Chop Shop updates download was put out early, Rockstar Games have done the same here with this summer’s big GTA Online update.

What is this “pre-load”?

This update can only be downloaded on PS5 and PS4. You can’t play the new update either. It is simply just to save you time so you can play as soon as the content goes live. As for Xbox an PC users, you’ll have to wait until the official release of the DLC at 10am UK time on 25th June to start downloading.

Some good news for Xbox players though; Xbox are currently testing a patch pre-load feature and will be looking to roll it out fully in the near future. This means the next major GTA Online Update could get the same pre-load treatment as PlayStation.

When will Bottom Dollar Bounties release?

The first time a pre-load happened for a GTA Online update was last summer with the San Andreas Mercenaries update. This continued with The Chop Shop in December. Both of these patches were able to be downloaded 48 hours early by PlayStation users.

As we know, Bottom Dollar Bounties will release on Tuesday June 25th and the pre-load began at 10am UK time on Sunday; the expected 48 hours before. PlayStation lists the Bottom Dollar Bounties update as installable from 10am UK time on Tuesday, as we expected.

Download size

The GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties pre-load was first spotted by @madara3_game_ch on Twitter (currently known as X). They posted a screenshot of the update being downloaded on PS5. It comes in at around 2.526GB and is version 1.007.000. As for PS4, the download size is around 3.467GB.

In comparison to the previous two GTA Online DLCs, it is smaller in size. The Chop Shop was 6.212GB and 3GB whereas San Andreas Mercenaries came in at 5.572GB and 2.291GB. It is also a little unusual for a GTA Online update to be larger in size on PS4 than PS5 with Bottom Dollar Bounties. It tends to be the other way around as noted above.

Unfortunately Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC players will have to wait until Tuesday June 25th at around 10am BST to download the update. We’ll cover their download sizes once they are available.

GTA Online’s Bottom Dollar Bounties update will add new story missions about Bottom Dollar Bail Enforcement ran by Maude Eccles. Also part of the update are Drift/Drag Races in creator mode, new vehicles, expanded drifting, and gameplay improvements.

Plus, a severe exploit hackers are using in GTA Online should be fixed in this upcoming patch. Due to this, the Casino Heist has been disabled and Arcades cannot be purchased.

Tuesday will also see the start of a brand new GTA+ month and Event Week in GTA Online. This means you only have a couple of days to claim the current exclusive perks and make big cash in GTA Online ahead of the update.
