Golden temple yoga row: Police probing threat to fashion designer
The Vadodara city police is providing her round-the-clock protection.
The Vadodara police, probing a complaint filed by Vadodara-based fashion designer Archana Makwana, who allegedly received death threats after photos of her doing ‘shirsasan’ (head-stand) at Golden Temple on June 21, International Day of Yoga, went viral, said officials.
Makwana — who claimed that unidentified persons had given her death threats via email, WhatsApp and Instagram — has sought details of cellphone numbers via which the threats were made, said officials. The Vadodara city police is providing her round-the-clock protection.

In a video statement, she had urged the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee to withdraw its complaint against her for allegedly hurting religious sentiments through her post. An FIR was registered on Wednesday.
Inspector D V Baldaniya (Karelibaug) told The Indian Express: “We have sought CDR files of cellphone numbers, via which the threat messages were sent to the complainant, from the operators. We have also sought technical details of threat emails she received… Further probe is underway… Makwana is provided with 24X7 police protection…”
