George Strait breaks attendance record, brings nearly 111K fans to Texas A&M’s Kyle Field
AUSTIN (KXAN) — The “King of Country Music” is now the “King of Broken Records.”
Fans showed up big for George Strait in College Station Saturday, helping him break a concert attendance record.
Texas A&M Athletics announced on social media that Strait broke the record for the largest U.S. ticketed show with 110,905 fans at Kyle Field.
Parker McCollum and Catie Offerman also performed alongside him Saturday night.
This surpassed Texas A&M’s long-standing stadium record of 110,633 fans set in October 2014 when the Aggies played Ole Miss, according to the university’s website.
According to a 2023 list from the NCAA, Texas A&M’s Kyle Field is the fourth-biggest college football stadium in the country, only falling behind Michigan Stadium at Michigan, Beaver Stadium at Penn State, and Ohio Stadium at Ohio State.
One other Texas college stadium ranks in the top 10 of that list — University of Texas’ Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, which comes in at No. 8.
