Galaxy Z Fold 6 confirmed to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 12GB RAM

Last month, we exclusively reported that Samsung will launch its next set of foldable smartphones, which will have two devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6, on 10 July 2024. The same month, we also got a confirmation that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Most likely, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will also feature the same chipset. However, there was no confirmation about it. Fortunately, that’s changing today.

The carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, carrying the model number SM-F956U, has made its way to Geekbench. The listing of the device on the platform confirms that it will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It also reveals that Samsung’s upcoming flagship foldable phone will have 12GB RAM and Android 14 out of the box. The latter will most likely be coupled with One UI 6.1.1.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 scored 1,964 points in the single-core test and 6,619 points in the multicore test. For your reference, Galaxy Z Fold 5 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC has scored 1,943 points in the single-core test and 5,123 points in the multi-core test.

The story continues after the video…

So, the upcoming model offers a marginal improvement over the existing one in the single-core CPU performance and a significant improvement in the multi-core CPU performance. With that, expect the Galaxy Z Fold 6 to perform much faster in CPU-intensive tasks.

We hope that Samsung launches a variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 that offers 16GB RAM. It should make a lot of people happy. With the launch now less than two months away, the frequency of leaks will keep increasing, giving us more info about the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
