Free family event with SSCH Fitness Center

SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Even with the heat Friday evening, community members made the best of it at a free event.

Sullivan County Community Hospital’s Fitness Center hosted its free annual event ‘Family Fit Friday’. Those who attended got to enjoy free slushies, outdoor games, bounce houses, and concessions. Attendees also participated in a 1-mile color run. The fitness center gave back to the community by providing free diapers to families in need.

Fitness Director Drew Hogue said it’s important to stay active.

“As fitness specialists and as in the field of fitness and health we strive for keeping our youth in shape and keeping physically active. It’s important that we set the tone now for our younger generation to set them up for future years,” he said.
