Food giant Nestle moving 200 jobs from Dublin to Marysville

Nestle is moving an operation and the 200 jobs that go with it from Dublin to Marysville where the global food giant has had a presence for more than a century.

Swiss-based Nestle says consolidating offices will boost efficiency. It also is investing $30 million in Marysville to accommodate the additional staff.

“Given the proximity of the two businesses, our collective Nestle mission and the opportunity for greater collaboration, it makes sense to bring the two sites under one roof in 2026,” the company said in a statement. “This investment will allow us to better serve our businesses and consumers and will create additional opportunities for our employees to grow and develop within Nestle.”

The Nestle Quality Assurance Center in Dublin focuses on food safety testing for Nestle’s U.S. businesses. Nestle will move that to the Marysville campus where the Nestle Development Center works on coffee and related products.

Nestle has 155 employees in Marysville at the research and development center at 809 Collins Rd.

The original facility on the site was built in 1907 by John Wildi as a mild production facility, according to Union County economic development officials. Nestle bought the company in 1918 and began the research on coffee there in 1948.

Nestle’s Quality Assurance Center actually started in Marysville in the 1950s, but Nestle moved it to Dublin in 1991 where it operates at 77,000-square-foot center at 6625 Eiterman Rd.

As part of the move, Nestle will build a 20,000 to 25,000-square-foot expansion and renovate a similar amount of space. The workers are expected to relocate in 2026.

 “The investment will allow us to better serve our businesses and consumers and will create additional opportunities for our employees to grow and develop within Nestle,” the company said. “This change will involve extending and renovating our Marysville campus to integrate a state-of-the-art quality center that further strengthens our technical capabilities.”

The 200 jobs will have an annual payroll of $14.3 million.

A Dublin economic development official says the city will position Nestle’s facility in the West Innovation District for future development opportunities.

“We’re happy Nestle will maintain operations within the Columbus region and wish them continued success,” said the city’s economic development director, Jeremiah Gracia.
