Food Fun and Fitness

The first week at Food Fun and Fitness, a summer day camp run by the UW Extension-Florence County, the children learned so much and had many hands-on activities to enjoy. They learned about different Olympic athletes and painted rocks that they later used as obstacle course pieces for mini-golf. Each rock had a different flag representing a country to show them all the different people in the Olympics all over the world. In Rebecca Wilcox’s reading class, they learned about the ways people all over the world — children included — were making a difference for the safety of animals. The first through fifth graders also enjoyed playing with a parachute and water balloons. They built wind chimes as well and learned about the importance of sunscreen and exercise.
