Florida State Football Recruiting: South Florida safety Max Redmon commits to FSU

The month of July continues to yield results on the trail for Mike Norvell and the Florida State Seminoles, as they have landed another verbal commitment for #Tribe25.

Max Redmon is a 6’0”, 185 pound defensive back who plays for Cardinal Newman in West Palm Beach, FL. He is currently ranked by 247Sports Composite as the 1087th best player nationally (94th best safety, 143rd best player in FL). That ranking should certainly rise with a strong senior season.

Redmon chose the Seminoles over 20 offers from the likes of the Indiana Hoosiers, Illinois Fighting Illini, Iowa Hawkeyes, Kentucky Wildcats, Louisville Cardinals, Michigan State Spartans, Minnesota Golden Gophers, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Penn State Nittany Lions, Pitt Panthers, Syracuse Orange, UCF Golden Knights, USF Bulls, and West Virginia Mountaineers.

Redmon is a developmental prospect who plays the defensive back position with a linebacker’s mentality, as that’s where he spent the most time as a sophomore. FSU likes him as a safety, with Mike Norvell and DB coach Pat Surtain putting a lot of work into his recruitment. Last season, Redmon tallied 64 tackles (10 for loss), three sacks, two interceptions, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. He visited during the June 7 weekend.
