Fitness tests as Salisbury FC’s first team squad prepares ahead of new season
Brian Dutton’s backroom team put the players through their paces and took measurements as Salisbury FC begin to prepare its players and squad for life in the Vanarama National League South.
The clubs staff, including Sam Chapman, the lead strength and conditioning coach, took several measurements through mobility and body fat assessments before a 5-0-5 test to measure how quickly players can stop, turn and accelerate again over five meters.
Most of the squad undertook an arduous Yo-Yo test in warm temperatures. The Yo-Yo test is a maximal aerobic endurance fitness test involving running between markers placed 20 meters apart at increasing speeds until exhaustion.
