Kaito Barr-Miller and Parsons firefighters and a police officer demonstrated exercises Tuesday that could be performed at the fitness court in Forest Park across from the stone shelter house. The project cost $210,000 with Blue Cross and Blue Shield providing $50,000. Labette Health and the city of Parsons pledged $60,000 each, but costs were lower and more donors chipped in so they contributed about $55,000 each. Labette County gave $25,000 and Labette Center for Mental Health Services gave $10,000. Additional donations came from Bowen Pharmacy, the Parsons Chamber of Commerce and the Parsons Recreation Commission.
