Final Touches Underway at Clarion Travel Plaza, Opening Soon – exploreClarion
CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — The highly anticipated Clarion Travel Plaza in Monroe Township is nearing completion, with a target opening date set for July 10.
Located at Trinity Point along State Route 68, just off Interstate 80 Exit 62, the travel plaza has reached its final stages of construction.
Workers on-site confirmed that significant progress has been made, including the installation of signage displaying the name “Clarion Travel Plaza” and the names of the restaurants in the food court: Dunkin, Sbarro, Fatburger, Jimmy John’s, and Tikka Shack.
The underground work for the fuel stations has been completed, and crews are now focused on installing the pumps, dispensers, and canopies.
In addition to the physical construction, the plaza is actively seeking employees. Job postings on the employment website Indeed.com list positions for Store Associates, offering $15 to $17 per hour for both part-time and full-time roles.
The Clarion Travel Plaza is expected to employ around 40 people, with approximately half of those positions being full-time. Initial operating hours will be from 4:00 a.m. to midnight, with plans to eventually extend to 24/7 operations, according to GJAMS Clarion Holdings, LLC Operations and Project Manager Ang Sandoo.
Construction of the plaza began the week of December 26, 2022.
The Clarion Travel Plaza is one of two developments near Interstate 80 Exit 62. A second plaza, located on the northern side of Interstate 80 at the site of the former Ramada Inn, will feature a Sheetz and two proposed chain restaurants. This project is still in the early development stages.
