Engineering design firm chosen for Little League Boulevard, outdoor fitness pad
The City of Williamsport is closer to an outdoor fitness pad being constructed at Memorial Park, close to the pickleball courts and for the reconstruction design on Little League Boulevard.
City Council authorized Livic, an engineering firm, to do the design phase of the pad that will have equipment that people can use for free and for the boulevard reconstruction engineering design.
Bill Scott, city engineer, said the design for the fitness outdoors included a concrete pad 38 feet by 38 feet, stone base and tiles on top. Cost for the work is $7,000.
The same firm was hired for design engineering work for $75,560 on a part of Little League Boulevard, which is scheduled to be reconstructed between Mulberry and Walnut streets this summer.
Livic engineers will do pre-design, final design and prepare for the bidding on the construction, Scott noted.
The officials are looking at a whole new surface curb to curb, he said. It does not include a new sidewalk. Cost is estimated at $750,000 but that is subject to change.
