Elden Ring Rellana boss location, weaknesses, how to beat and drops
The battle of the twin moon!
Rellana Twin Moon Knight, is one of the main bosses in the Gravesite Plain region of Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC that you fight first or second, depending on your path.
She is one of the Remembrance bosses in the DLC and an adamant and hard-hitting boss that many players get stuck.
So whether you are looking for Elden Ring Rellana or tips on defeating her, our guide on Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Rellana boss location and how to beat her will come in handy.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Rellana location
In Elden Ring, you can find Rellana in Castle Enis, located in the Gravesite Plain region. As soon as you enter the DLC and activate the Gravesite Plain Site of Grace, you can go to her location.
That said, from the said Site of Grace, keep following the main road until you find the Three-Path Cross Site of Grace. From there, take the path on the right side, cross the bridge and keep moving until you reach the Castle Front Site of Grace.
Head inside the Castle Enis and keep progressing until you reach the Castle-Lord’s Chamber Site of Grace, the nearest Site of Grace to Rellana’s location, as the boss arena is next to it.
How to easily beat Elden Ring Rellana in Shadow of the Erdtree
To easily beat Rellana Twin Moon Knight, you must know about her movesets and the different phases. Only then does defeating her become a little easier as you know what is coming and are ready to dodge or block.
Weakness: Rellana is weak towards Bleed damage.
Strategy: Use weapons that have high Bleed buildup and the Mimic Tear Spirit Ash as it will help with the Bleed buildup.
Rellana Twin Moon Knight: First phase battle
Since you are here, I assume you have already been defeated by Rellana quite a few times. That said, when you enter the fog gate to the boss arena, these are the attacks she can do:
- Throw a horizontal moonlight slash at you.
- Run towards you.
- Summon three magic Carian blades and walk towards you.
Among the above starting attacks, the moonlight slash is the most devastating one you must dodge, or you will die instantly, granted your Vigor is less than 50, as mine was 40, and getting hit was guaranteed death for me.
You can dodge the horizontal moonlight slash and the Carian blades, but as for her melee attacks, you can block them with the shield or keep dodging while trying to stay near, granted you are a melee user.
In the first phase of the battle, she will use only four attacks:
- Her dancing melee combos: You can block or dodge them.
- Horizontal Moonlight slash: Dodge towards the attack as if doing a sideways dodge; sometimes, the attack still hits.
- Vertical magical sword attack followed by 360 sweeps: When Rellana uses the big magic sword, she hits it vertically in your location and then performs a broad horizontal swipe. You can counter it while dodging left or right twice, consecutively.
- The three Carian homing magic swords: You can dodge or block it.
At the end of every combo and attack, you get a few seconds of window to attack her. Use it to inflict damage on her. When her HP reaches 50%, she will enter the second phase.
Rellana Twin Moon Knight: Second phase battle
The second phase is a nightmare for every player as, based on the RNG, Rellana will perform any of the below three attacks using the Fire and Moon sword:
- Enter the Moon and Fire stance and throw five Moonlight slashes towards you: This is the easy one you can escape by dodging left or right until the attack ends. The attack starts with two diagonal slashes, followed by two horizontal slashes and ends with a vertical slash.
- Use the Twin Moon spell: As soon as you see her becoming Twin Moons, get ready to jump three times. Do not dodge this attack, as you will get hit no matter what. I have tried this multiple times, and the easiest way to counter it is to start your jump when the first Moon hits and creates an AoE wave and then keep jumping two more times without looking at the attack.
- The Fire Whirlwind: She creates a whirlwind of fire around her. As soon as you see this attack, make distance until it ends.
- Fire slashes: Parallel to Morgott and Mohg, Rellana uses diagonal fire slashes when you are close to her in the second phase. These slashes burst fire even after the initial attack has been hit.
The above four attacks are the ones that she can perform as soon as she enters the second phase.
After that, aside from her magic and fire melee attacks, she uses a new Carian homing sword attack that summons two waves of five Carian homing swords.
When you see that attack, dodge three to four times in any direction as a melee attack follows it.
So, if you try to block it, you may not be able to tank the entire combo.
That said, like before, after every attack, you get a few seconds to inflict damage on her. Use this window to lower Rellana’s HP and defeat her.
The best build to beat Rellana in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
Bleed build works like a charm in defeating Rellana, the Twin Moon Knight. I already have a detailed build guide showcasing my Bleed + Holy build that I previously said would be best for the DLC.
Now that I am using it in the DLC, I can confirm that it is one of the best builds for dealing with massive damage to bosses and regular enemies. The only changes I recommend are getting more Vigor to increase your survivability and equipping a shield to block specific attacks that fill the entire screen.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Rellana boss drops and unlocks
When you defeat Rellana in Elden Ring DLC, you get 2,40,000 Runes and her Remembrance that you can exchange for Rellana’s Twin Blades or Rellana’s Twin Moons Sorcery.
To obtain the latter rewards, you head to the Roundtable Hold and interact with Enia, the Finger Reader, to claim any of the one rewards.
Lastly, defeating Rellana unlocks the Scadu Altus region, which connects the other three main regions in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
That sums up our guide on where to find Rellana Twin Moon Knight boss in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC and how to beat her.
