Drew McIntyre says his wife is undergoing emergency surgery

He’s been waiting for another title shot in the United Kingdom since he was denied in 2022 at the first Clash at the Castle premium live event. It will happen for Drew McIntyre tomorrow in his native Scotland when he challenges Damian Priest for the WWE World Heavyweight championship, and McIntyre says he’s 100% focused on winning the belt — even though there’s something major happening here in the states that has to be weighing on his mind.

McIntyre revealed on the Clash at the Castle Kickoff today (June 14) that his wife is currently undergoing emergency surgery here in the United States:

“I’ve very much got my eye on the ball. I’ve never, ever been this focused in my life. I didn’t think this was possible. The last Clash was a stab through my heart, my family’s heart, the whole of the UK. I can not let it happen again in Scotland. I’m back home, I couldn’t have dreamt of this moment. I’m gonna have my people there, my family there — a redo, a chance to make this right.

“I wasn’t gonna talk about it, but I can’t stop thinking about it, the one person who’s not gonna be there is my wife. She’s in surgery right now, emergency surgery. And she told me, I want you to go there and bring that title home, and I’m gonna bring that title home!”

Hopefully it’s not too serious, but there’s risk involved in every surgical procedure, so we’ll keep a good thought for Drew’s wife — and keep you posted with any updates he provides.
