Disney World guests evacuated from new ride, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) — Disney World guests were evacuated from the newest ride at the theme park on Thursday.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the newest ride that replaced Splash Mountain, suddenly came to a stop.
Video captured by a Disney-focused news outlet, Diservations, shows riders at a standstill in the middle of the attraction before they were seen exiting alongside the water coaster.
The ride replaced Splash Mountain, which closed in 2023 following controversy over the theme from a 1946 movie, “Song of the South,” which many viewed as racist.
The outlet said that annual pass holders were allowed a sneak peek of the ride ahead of its grand opening. Although the riders weren’t able to experience the entirety of the ride, the outlet said guests still described the new coaster as “stunning.”
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is scheduled to open to the general public on June 28.
