Destiny 2 Players Want The Hunter’s Storm’s Edge Super Nerfed

Destiny 2 players are growing weary of Hunter Guardians using the Prismatic subclass and its coinciding Storm’s Edge super ability, complaining that the build is far too powerful in PvP modes like the Crucible and Trials of Osiris. Complaints of unbalanced perks and abilities for the fan-favorite Destiny 2 class have led fans to reach out to developer Bungie, calling for the Prismatic Hunter subclass to be nerfed or rebalanced in the name of fairness.

The latest Destiny 2 expansion, The Final Shape, saw three new Supers added to the game alongside it: Twilight Arsenal for Titans, Song of Flame for Warlocks, and Storm’s Edge for Hunters. The new Prismatic Subclasses have mostly seen praise from fans when it comes to the game’s PvE offerings, but when it comes to PvP, many players report that Prismatic Hunters are too difficult to defeat thanks to their abilities.

In fact, Destiny 2 Twitch streamer JOverrated responded to a Q&A thread on Twitter to ask Bungie directly about the issue and whether there are any current plans to nerf the subclass in the near future. In response, the Destiny 2 team reassured the user that they are aware of the complaints from fans and are seemingly working on retooling the Prismatic subclass in the near future, but there are no concrete details as yet.

Bungie Plans a Rework in Response to Fans

Specifically, fans have pointed out the game’s biggest PvP mode, the Trials of Osiris, as the biggest source of issues when it comes to the new Super. It is reportedly full of Prismatic Hunters abusing their abilities for easy kills. While the Prismatic Hunter build overall is known for being powerful, most take issue with its Super, Storm’s Edge, which sees them throw a dagger that teleports them near an enemy and hits them with a melee attack that can kill them instantly.

While The Final Shape has proven popular among fans in general, owing to its status as the finale of a long-running plotline throughout the game, the latest Destiny 2 expansion is not without controversy, even outside the Prismatic Hunter debacle. Mainly, players take issue with the game’s progression and level caps, making certain content difficult to attain without a lot of grinding.
