Derby Street Shops Celebrates Twenty Years as the South Shore’s Premier Shopping and Lifestyle Destination – Hingham Anchor

Derby Street Shops continues to bring the community together with over 100 events a year, including kid-friendly activities, holiday programming, outdoor fitness, music and so much more, with many events supporting local organizations. Long-standing partnerships with nonprofits like Arc of the South Shore, Hingham Unity Council, South Shore Conservatory, and Cardinal Cushing Centers have not only enhanced the property’s event offerings but have also provided substantial fundraising opportunities and inclusive programming, reinforcing Derby Street’s role as a community pillar.

As Derby Street looks to the future, it remains dedicated to evolving with its guests and setting trends in retail and community life. “Our anniversary is not just about celebrating the past but also about looking forward to the exciting developments to come. We are continually inspired by our community and strive to offer experiences that enrich lives and bring people together,” adds Hessberg.

Derby Street Shops’ celebratory series of events runs from June 4th to June 7th. The schedule features various festivities for all ages, including interactive kid-friendly entertainment, performances by local musicians, and fitness and wellness that celebrate the spirit of the South Shore. Events will take place on The Green and in the Shake Shack parking lot, with ticket proceeds benefiting several local organizations. Anniversary Week Events

Sweat & Self-Care
Tuesday, June 4th, 6pm – 7:30pm
Location: The Green

Kick off the celebrations with a 30-minute outdoor POWER workout led by Pulse Studio’s Jenn Maturo, followed by mini self-care treatments from popular Derby Street businesses including Restore Hyper Wellness and Drybar, plus refreshments and giveaways from lululemon and Derby Street. Tickets are $10, with proceeds benefiting South Shore Health.

Music & Martinis – Coldplay String Quartet Tribute
Wednesday, June 5th, 6pm – 8pm
Location: The Green

Enjoy an elegant evening with a one-hour Tribute to Coldplay by the acclaimed Beacon Street String Quartet. Each ticket, priced at $20, includes two cocktails or non-alcoholic beverages, with proceeds supporting the South Shore Center for the Arts. (This is a seated event and not recommended for young children).

Summer Thursdays Anniversary Edition! Kids Magic Show with Jungle Jim
Thursday, June 6th, 5:30pm – 6:15pm
Location: The Green

Experience the magic with Jungle Jim, featuring a high-energy, family-friendly balloon magic show. Tickets are $5, benefiting the Hingham Unity Council. In case of inclement weather, the event will be postponed to June 10th.

Touch a Truck
Friday, June 7th, 6pm – 8pm
Location: Shake Shack Parking Lot

Explore a variety of large vehicles including fire trucks and construction equipment, meet the dedicated individuals who operate them, and enjoy activities like face painting and kids’ bike tune-ups from REI. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children, with proceeds going to the Hingham Working Dogs Foundation.
