Denim Street Style at Milan Men’s Fashion Week
From workwear constructions to looser fits, the street style at Milan Men’s Fashion Week reflected what’s trending in denim.
While jean shorts trended at Pitti Uomo in Florence, loose-fitting jeans were worn by men and women to the Milanese fashion event. Medium indigo washes were the most common, often paired with basic tees, vests and shrunken long-sleeve shirts by models on the go. Others were pleated, bleached or featured repaired details.
Utility vests, cargo jeans and Carhartt zip-up jean jackets were present. Others opted for workwear with a minimalist look, like double-paneled jeans and denim jackets in matching washes. Styled with white button-down shirts and monochromatic tanks, the double denim outfits broke away from the Western trend that was popular during the last fashion week.
In general, tank tops were a popular choice. The basic layering piece was dressed up with belted jeans and leather footwear for a quintessential Italian look.
Near nostalgia continued to trend and provided the most trend-driven looks. Blokecore soccer jerseys, plaid Burberry accessories and logo polo shirts reminiscent of the styles popular in the late aughts were styled with relaxed blue jeans. Tight-fitting mock neck tops were a nod to ’90s rave culture.
