Dauphin County shopping center completes renovations

Renovations have been completed at Tanger Outlets Hershey in Derry Township.

Upgrades to the shopping center included cosmetic enhancements to modernize the center’s exterior as well as a new gathering space, walkways and seating areas.

“Our goal is to continually elevate the guest experience for shoppers,” Bob Ancharski, marketing director at Tanger Outlets Hershey, said in a news release.

The Tanger Hershey Plaza Walk grand opening celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The event will include live music, complimentary samples from the Kona Ice Truck, balloon artistry, face painting, glitter tattoos, outdoor games, giveaways and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“We invite the community to celebrate our fresh look and new plaza walk, which creates an inviting outdoor space for visitors of all ages to gather, play, shop and dine,” Ancharski said.

Tanger Outlets Hershey is located at 46 Outlet Square and is about 20 minutes from downtown Harrisburg. The shopping center has more than 50 stores.

Last month, Zumiez opened at the shopping center. The store sells apparel for men, women and children, as well as skateboards, snowboards and accessories among other items.
