D1Baseball Top 25: National champion Tennessee leads final 2024 rankings • D1Baseball

Rankings

After becoming the first No. 1 national seed to win the College World Series since 1999, the Tennessee Volunteers are No. 1 in the final D1Baseball Top 25 rankings of 2024. The Vols had a season for the ages, earning an SEC regular-season championship, then winning the SEC tournament and becoming the first national champion to reach the 60-win plateau since Wichita State in 1999.

National runner-up Texas A&M moves up two spots from our final regular-season Top 25 to the postseason Top 25, finishing at No. 2. SEC co-champ Kentucky finishes No. 3 after reaching its first-ever College World Series and winning a game in Omaha. National semifinalists Florida State and Florida finish No. 4 and No. 8, respectively, while fellow CWS participants North Carolina, NC State and Virginia check in at No. 5, 6 and 7, respectively.

The next eight teams all reached a super regional but fell short of Omaha. No. 9 Clemson, No. 10 Oregon State and No. 11 Georgia lead this group, after all three teams entered the postseason ranked in the top 10. That trio is followed by five teams that entered the NCAA tournament all ranked but won a regional on the road: No. 12 Oregon, No. 13 West Virginia, No. 14 Kansas State, No. 15 Connecticut and No. 16 Evansville. The first four teams in that group were all No. 3 seeds in regionals, and Evansville won the Greenville Regional as the No. 4 seed.

The addition of those five super regional clubs plus Florida knocks six teams out of the rankings, including four teams that made a regional final: Indiana State, Louisiana, Southern Miss and LSU. Wake Forest and Dallas Baptist also drop out of the Top 25.
