Costco looks to come to Penfield, anchor mixed-use development

PENFIELD, N.Y. (WROC) — A new Costco may be coming to Penfield.

The town told News 8 via email that the developer of a proposed mixed-use development along Route 250 at “Sweet Corners” in Penfield submitted a sketch plan review application.

The 51-acre project would have Costco be the anchor tenant.

A preliminary public hearing is scheduled for August 8 and additional information will be posted on the town’s website on July 24.

The other Costco in the Greater Rochester area is in the CityGate development, where it serves as the anchor tenant.

Topgolf will be building in an adjoining parcel to CityGate and will be open in 2025.
