City of West Monroe to apply for $1.4 million in road improvement grants
MONROE, La. (KNOE) – The City of West Monroe seeks funding to improve its road infrastructure.
The West Monroe Board of Alderman authorized the city to pursue $1.4 million in grant money.
The city will apply for two grants through the Delta Regional Authority Community Infrastructure Fund. They’ll then match the two grants in part for more than $540,000.
West Monroe Mayor Staci Mitchell gave insight into what they hope to accomplish with one of the grants.
“One of the grants is for a portion of Constitution [Drive] that was not overlaid several years ago when the rest of it was,” said Mitchell.
A decision on the grant is expected to be made this fall.
