CEF Energy: new interactive publication showcases positive impact of CEF in modernising European energy infrastructure

As part of the activities linked to the 10th anniversary of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) Programme, CINEA has launched a new interactive publication showcasing the contribution of CEF Energy to building a future-proof European energy network. The publication “Interconnected sustainable energy infrastructure for Europe” is one of the flagship actions of this year under the #10YearsofCEF campaign. The Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) is a key EU funding instrument in delivering the European Green Deal and an important enabler towards the Union’s decarbonisation objectives for 2030 and 2050.

The digital publication, officially launched during the Energy Infrastructure Forum on 27 June, is an interactive webpage featuring narrative on the impact of CEF Energy on the several energy sectors as well as pictures, data and, most importantly, interactive maps where users can zoom and explore CEF Energy projects across the EU.

Focus areas are electricity, smart grids, natural gas, CO₂ networks and renewable energy with the overall objective to demonstrate how EU investments on cross-border infrastructure throughout the years are having a positive impact to the continent’s energy networks, yielding concrete benefits for businesses and citizens alike.
