Cara Delevingne Laces Up in a Satin Minidress with a Horn-Like Bust
Vogue World has begun, bringing together all the biggest names in fashion.
Over the next few days, the Paris event—which honors the Olympics by pairing select sports with French fashion from every decade—will welcome everyone from athletes to artists. One of the first to arrive was none other than supermodel Cara Delevingne, who honored the theme by wearing a dress by French label Jean Paul Gaultier.
Designed by Simone Rocha, the pink satin minidress featured a cone bra that projected out and up—not unlike horns. The unusual pointed design was complemented by a structured corset top that laced up on each side, and seemed to sit atop layers of additional corsets. Ruffles peeked out toward the bottom of the dress, creating the illusion that Delevingne was wearing matching pink bloomers. Multiple elastic ribbons dangled from the bottom of the gown, adding a garter-like effect to the ensemble.
Delevingne paired the intimate dress with shiny sheer tights and matching pink satin ballet flats, the latter of which mimicked the fit of the gown’s bust with toes that pointed upward. She posed coyly in the elf-like slippers, and topped off her look with a white satin sailor’s cap—a signature Jean Paul Gaultier motif—that boasted ribbon bows that streamed down past her shoulders.
While the look may have felt costume-y on others, Delevingne pulled off the look with ease. For the occasion, the supermodel wore her highlighted blonde hair in a pin-straight style. Her glam included a sultry brown smokey eye, a mauve lipstick, and her signature tailored brows.
