As much as films from all parts of the world are hailed and celebrated for their brilliance, it’s the much-discussed red-carpet looks that have grown in momentum. Global stars such as Selena Gomez, Bella Hadid, Demi Moore, Meryl Streep, and Emma Stone – to name a few had memorable style moments as they walked the red carpet this season. From shimmery cocktail gowns to playful summer dresses to channelling boss lady vibes in chic pantsuits – the spread was sharp, eclectic and effortless.

Here’s a look at some of our top picks from the looks served this year by International stars

Simplicity at its best, Selena Gomez graced the red carpet in a black bodycon gown with cream off-shoulder detailing. The satin fabric of the neckline looked luxurious with the velvet bodice. The perfect touch of dazzle with a statement diamond necklace, nude lips, smokey eyes and a neat ponytail were the finishing touches. For a daytime look, she ditched minimalism and went for a bright red dress. The ruffled attire had 3D florals on the neckline made from a silk organza fabric. Side-swept wavy tresses, red nails, pinkish eyeshadow and lips were her glam picks.

Bold and beautiful was the vibe the model channelled for her first red carpet look this season – a brown naked dress with ruched detailing in the midriff and a pleated tulle drape around her bust. The halter neckline further added to the risque ensemble. Glossy lips and a nude makeup base complemented the get-up. In the mood for summer, she opted for a lovely red and white sundress. A pair of sunnies and a scrunchie to tie up her hair and she was good to go. One can never go wrong with black attire, her couture gown was one such quintessential example. A sheer black top paired with a matching sequin skirt, a tight bun with winged liner and glossy lips were her beauty picks.

Up next was a backless satin gown in a muted tone. A sleek bun and minimal makeup were her choice of glam for this one. A simple brown slip dress in a bodycon silhouette was an effortless move for her daytime outing and a lot relatable too. Her sixth look saw her flaunt her svelte frame in a pastel pink print dress, once again with a neat bun and drop earrings.

Her seventh look was right out of princess diaries as she went for a bodycon sleeveless white gown with detached drapes and subtle golden sequin work on it. Her love for mini dresses was evident when she opted for a corset number featuring a plunging neckline and halter fit. Her chic girl era was right at the forefront with her final look where she sported a peachy number in a pleated fabric. The minimal glam was a constant throughout her fashion spread for Cannes this year.

Big bows are the comeback trend everyone is enthusiastic to try out. Demi Moore’s red carpet look this year was a lovely black and white Celine dress with a big white bow on the upper bodice. Black strappy heels, poker-straight hair and subtle makeup rounded it up with utmost panache. For the Kinds of Kindness premiere, she opted for a beaded red column dress with a floor-length fall and V-neckline. The embellished gown was matched with statement jewels, red eyeshadow and her voluminous black mane. Her champagne-hued sculptural gown was the talk of the town that came with a mermaid silhouette, let the outfit steal the show, she paired it with a dainty diamond necklace and matching earrings.
