Camila Cabello says she slid into Drake’s DMs to get him on her album

Camila Cabello confessed that she slid into Drake’s DMs in order to get him to feature on her upcoming album C, XOXO.

C, XOXO is inspired by Miami, where Camila partly grew up and where Drake also used to keep a condo, before selling it for $2.3 million in 2018.

Drake and Camila were spotted jet-skiing together off Turks And Caicos this past December, setting off a blizzard of dating rumors.

Now, however, Camila, 27, has confirmed that they were in fact working on one of the two tracks he ended up contributing to her album.

She regards Drake as ‘the f***ing GOAT, so it felt like shooting for the stars’ messaging him to work together, she told Billboard in a new cover interview.

‘I showed him the album when I felt comfortable enough and he really liked it,’ said Camila, adding that his work on the record ‘came out of a nontransactional place.’

She glowingly recalled that Drake ‘had this idea of a song called Hot Uptown, and it just felt like I was in the city. I was in Miami.’

After that flirty duet, Drake can also be heard on a two-minute track called Uuugly, which features him as the main vocalist with Camila as backup.

‘Why does he have his own song? Because selfishly, I just want to hear Drake on my own album. I love that for me – it’s like that rebellious mood,’ said Camila.

The Havana-born pop act, who shot to fame as part of the girl group Fifth Harmony , added: ‘Who says I can’t do that? It’s Drake talking his s***.’

Camila whirled through a variety of eye-catching ensembles as she struck pose after pose for her latest magazine photo-shoot.

One of the singer’s looks was a saucy, strapless Mugler cocktail dress that appeared to be made entirely out of plastic straws.

Another outfit included a splotch-print Retail Pharmacy tank top, teamed with a set of artfully torn pantyhose and heels with feather accents.

C, XOXO is Camila’s fourth studio album as a solo artist and includes the already released singles I Luv It featuring Playboy Carti and He Knows featuring Lil Nas X
‘So much of the inspiration for this album was driving, listening to music, rolling the windows down and hearing what people in the city are listening to,’ she revealed

The new album – Camila’s first since leaving Epic Records and signing with Interscope Records – is slated for release on June 28.

‘So much of the inspiration for this album was driving, listening to music, rolling the windows down and hearing what people in the city are listening to,’ she revealed.

C, XOCO includes her collaboration with the Miami hip hop duo City Girls, with whom she has recorded a song called Dade County Dreaming.
