Busy holiday travel week ahead – KFIZ News-Talk 1450 AM
AAA projects nearly 1.6 million Wisconsinites will head out fifty miles or more from home during the fourth of July weekend. Nationwide, 5.74 million people are projected to fly to their July 4th destinations this year. An increase of nearly 7% compared to last year and a 12% increase over 2019.
With large crowds expected, travel officials suggest arriving at the airport several hours before your flight to ensure a timely departure.
Meanwhile, on the road, AAA is expecting over 60 million people to be traveling by car over Independence Day week, which would be 2.8 million more than last year. Friday is expected to be the busiest travel day of the holiday week.
