Bernalillo County wants input on infrastructure, planning, and safety plans

BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) — Bernalillo County officials are seeking feedback from the public about their 5-Year Strategic Plan.

Interviews and surveys were utilized in the creation of the plan, which focuses on infrastructure, public safety, quality of life, and community well-being.

“This strategic plan is a collaborative effort incorporating insights from all 26 county departments, elected officials, and local stakeholders,” stated Shirley Ragin, interim county manager. “Public feedback is crucial in helping us refine and implement a strategic plan that incorporates the needs of our community.”

The intention is to provide health services, expand cultural amenities, create affordable housing and rental assistance, enhance public areas, plan for sustainability, and engage with the community through events, school outreach, and senior programs. The mission statement attached to the plan states, “Provide welcoming, professional, exceptional public service to the community we serve.”

“We invite all residents to take part in this survey and contribute to Bernalillo County’s continued future success,” said Ragin.
