Ben Stiller sends a striking message to his friend Rafa Nadal after losing at Roland Garros

On Monday, Ben Stiller decided to show his support to Rafa Nadal after the Spaniard fell on the opening day of the Roland Garros tournament against Zverev.

The actor is a staunch supporter of the Spanish legend, who also happens to be his friend. That is why he didn’t want to leave him in the lurch and used his social media to show his support for Nadal.

Stiller showed that even elimination from the prestigious tournament that Nadal has won 14 times isn’t enough to dent his faith in the Spanish tennis player. “Still rooting for Rafa Nadal always,” were Stiller’s words.

Where does this bond between Nadal and Stiller come from?

The friendship goes back a long way. Stiller was in ‘El Hormiguero’ a couple of years ago and talked about this bond. The actor likes tennis and is a big fan of Nadal, with whom he shared the court several years ago at an Australian Open.

The Spanish tennis player invited him to be his partner in a doubles clash against Juan Martin del Potro and an 8-year-old girl: “I’m a big fan of Rafa and what he has done at the Australian Open this year has been mind-blowing. Well, this year he hasn’t lost a match yet, he’s having an awesome season.”

What’s more, two years ago Nadal and Ben Stiller could be seen sharing a table with people who trust the Spaniard. The two tookadvantage of the Spanish tennis player’s professional duties in New York, and actually got to know each other.

In fact, at that dinner the actor shared a table with Carlos Costa, Marc López, Benito Pérez-Barbadillo and Rafael Maymó, among others, at the Piccola Cucina Uptown restaurant. That day Nadal talked on social media about that dinner and included Stiller in that select group: “Fun dinner with my team and friends! And… all good before the tournament starts”.
