Samsung makes some of the best wireless earbuds on the market, offering improved audio quality with each iteration. With the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, it introduced the SSC Hi-Fi audio codec. With the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, it could offer an even better codec.
Galaxy Buds 3 Pro might have lossless audio codec
It is already clear that Samsung will drastically change the design of its wireless earbuds with the Galaxy Buds 3 series. Now, tipster Ice Universe has reiterated that Samsung will bring higher-quality audio with the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. Lining up with a previous report, the tipster claims that the earbuds will offer 24-bit 96KHz audio transmission.
If this information is correct, it is an upgrade over the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro’s 24-bit 48KHz audio transmission. It should allow Samsung’s phones to transmit near-lossless audio to the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. Audiophiles might appreciate Samsung’s move. However, this codec will likely be limited to Galaxy phones and tablets, at least going by the company’s track record.

It is unlikely that Samsung will bring existing near-Hi-Res audio codecs, such as aptX Lossless, LDAC, and LHDC, to the Galaxy Buds 3 lineup. The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro has Adaptive ANC, Adaptive Equalizer, Ambient Sound, Bluetooth 5.4 (likely with Bluetooth LE with Auracast), a 30-hour battery life, and new gestures.
