ASRock’s Entire X870E & X870 Motherboard Fleet Pictured: Taichi, Nova, Riptide, Steel Legend, PRO
ASRock has showcased its entire fleet of X870E & X870 motherboards designed for next-gen AMD Ryzen 9000 CPUs & featuring the flagship Taichi design.
ASRock’s X870E & X870 Motherboards Include High-End Taichi, Nova, Steel Legend, Riptide & Pro Designs That Are Ready For AMD Ryzen 9000 CPUs
For its AMD X870E motherboard lineup, ASRock has so far showcased six new designs which include the Taichi, Taichi Lite, Nova WIFI, Riptide, Steel Legend & PRO RS series. All of these motherboards feature updated specs and brand new I/O capabilities along with revised designs that offer QOL improvements. Plus, all of these motherboards feature out-of-the-box support for AMD’s Ryzen 9000 Desktop CPUs that are launching next month.
Starting at the top, we have the ASRock X870E Taichi. This is the flagship motherboard from ASRock which features 27 power phases (110A SPS), two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, four DDR5 DIMM slots, four M.2 slots (1 Gen5 + 3 Gen 4), dual USB4 Type-C ports, 5GbE LAN, WIFI7 and more. In terms of the design, the ASRock X870E Taichi comes with an E-ATX form factor that adopts a very stylish gold and black color scheme with large RGB-lit accent plates on the IO cover and the PCH heatsink. The motherboard should also be one of the best overclockers among the ASRock X870E line and pricing should be above $500 US.
If the ASRock X870E Taichi is a bit too expensive for you, then the board maker also plans on making a LITE version of the same motherboard that only gets rid of the fancy RGB and accent plates but the rest of the hardware remains the same while coming in at a price point that will be $100-$150 US less.
ASRock will also have the X870E NOVA WIFI on display which is the top Phantom Gaming offering. The motherboard wasn’t displayed when we visited the ASRock booth but the specs card revealed a 23 power phase design (110A SPS), a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, 4 DDR5 DIMM slots, 4 M.2 slots (1 Gen5, 3 Gen4, 1 Gen3), dual USB4 Type-C ports, 5 GbE LAN, WIFI7 and ALC4082 audio codec. In our review of the Z790 Nova, we found it to be a very attractive value for the features it had on offer so we can expect the same from the X870E variant.
The other Phantom Gaming motherboard on display is the X870 Riptide WIFI which is a leaner version of the Nova with a 17-phase power design (80A Dr.MOS), a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, 4 DDR5 DIMM slots, 3 M.2 slots (1 Gen5, 2 Gen4), Dual USB4 ports, 2.5GbE LAN, WIFI7 and the same ALC4082 audio codec.
Moving over to the mainstream offerings, we first have the X870 Steel Legend motherboard which adopts a white color scheme and looks very professional. It comes with a 17-phase (80A Dr.MOS) power design with WIFI 7, Dual USB4 Type-C ports, and similar M.2 specs as the Riptide model.
The last and second white motherboard in the ASRock AMD X870 lineup is the PRO RS WIFI which should come in at around $220-$250 US & has a 17 phase power delivery (80A Dr.MOS), a PCIe 5.0 slot, 4 DDR5 DIMM slots, 3 M.2 slots (1 Gen5, 1 Gen4, 1 Gen3), Dual USB4 ports, WIFI7 and 2.5 GbE LAN.
ASRock will be launching these new AMD X870E & X870 motherboards closer to the launch of the Ryzen 9000 Desktop CPUs in July and we will detail you more about the pricing soon.
