“Nothing is too big for us to steal” Apple has revealed their official trailer for an adventure time travel series called Time Bandits, streaming this summer on the Apple TV+ service. Yes indeed, 80s kids, this is a TV adaptation of the kooky classic 1981 movie of the same name, Time Bandits, which was directed by Terry Gilliam. This new series is created by Jemaine Clement, Iain Morris, and Taika Waititi (wait, what!!), and produced for Apple TV+ by Paramount Television Studios, AC Studios and MRC, 2024’s Time Bandits is an unpredictable journey through time and space with a ragtag group of thieves and their newest recruit: an 11-year-old history buff named Kevin. Together they set out on a thrilling quest to save the boy’s parents — and the world. With an exciting ensemble cast featuring Lisa Kudrow as Penelope and Kal-El Tuck as Kevin, Tadhg Murphy, Roger Jean Nsengiyumva, Rune Temte, Charlyne Yi, Rachel House, James Dryden, Kiera Thompson, Felicity Ward, Francesca Mills, Imaan Hadchiti, + Waititi & Clement. Guided by Lisa Kudrow (as Penelope), the eccentric crew of bandits embark on epic adventures while evil forces threaten their conquests and life as they know it. As the group is transported through time and space, the gang stumbles upon fascinating worlds of the distant past while also seeking out treasure, depending on Kevin to shed light on each situation. The “Time Bandits” witness the creation of Stonehenge, see the Trojan Horse in action, escape dinosaurs in the prehistoric age, wreak havoc during the medieval times, experience the Ice Age, ancient civilizations, the Harlem Renaissance, & much more along the way.

Time Bandits is a new series created by comedy filmmakers Jemaine Clement, Iain Morris, and Taika Waititi. Produced for Apple TV+ by Paramount Television Studios, Anonymous Content’s AC Studios and MRC, Time Bandits is an unpredictable journey through time and space with a ragtag group of thieves and their newest recruit: an 11-year-old history buff named Kevin (starring Kal-El Tuck). Clement, Morris and Waititi executive produce, write and direct select episodes of this series, with Clement and Morris serving as co-showrunners. Garrett Basch and Tim Coddington also executive produce, along with Jane Stanton who executive produces for Handmade Films. With episodes also directed by Jeff Tomsic, Armagan Ballantyne, Yana Gorskaya, Jackie van Beek, and Tim van Dammen. Apple will debut the new Time Bandits adventure series streaming on Apple TV+ starting July 24th, 2024 with eps each week until the end of this summer.
