Anna, who? Riccardo Tisci is a magazine editor now!

Since he left his position at the helm of storied British stalwart Burberry at the back end of 2022, Riccardo Tisci has kept a low profile. Despite rumours surrounding subsequent appointments at massive fashion brands swirling around him across the course of the last two years – with top spots at Valentino, Fendi, and a return to Givenchy among them – the Italian designer has largely occupied himself with hanging out with his famous pals and partying in Mykonos, bitch.

All good things come to an end, though, and after a stint supporting rising designer Luis De Javier in his fashion endeavours, Tisci is finally back with a brand new gig. Announced today, he’s come on board as indie publication Boy.Brother.Friend’s first ever guest editor, and will lead the eighth issue of KK Obi’s forward-thinking fashion mag.

Landing on newsstands in July, the upcoming issue will start with ‘Faith’ as a theme. Across the course of the last three years, Obi has shed light on underrepresented creatives working out of Africa, and the African diaspora across the globe. With Obi explaining how Tisci has continuously supported his “work and mission” since launching the mag, Tisci himself revealed he was looking forward to using his platform to “power and propel the enormous wealth of African and African diaspora talent and cultural pioneers working today.”

Right now, a first glimpse has been given via a cover shot by Inez & Vinoodh, but to see the full picture, you’ll need to wait until July 8. Click through the gallery above for a closer look at the last issue of Boy.Brother.Friend in the meantime.
