Andy Cohen DEFENDS Jennifer Lopez after Meghan McCain criticized the singer as a ‘deeply unpleasant’ person: ‘I don’t think that’s correct!’

Andy Cohen came to the defense of Jennifer Lopez shortly after the singer was labeled as ‘deeply unpleasant’ by The View alum, Meghan McCain. 

The Bravo star, 56 – who was left fuming when Jeff Lewis whacked him ‘really hard’ during a game on WWHL – slammed criticism geared towards the On The Floor hitmaker, 54, on his Daddy Diaries podcast on Friday. 

His comments come after Meghan stated that Lopez ‘needs to humble herself’ on her own podcast titled, Citizen McCain, and following an article by The Hollywood Reporter that called Jennifer ‘unlikeable.’ 

‘I don’t think that’s correct,’ Cohen expressed to co-host John Hill during the episode, and recalled the Atlas actress appearing on Watch What Happens Live in the past. 

‘No drama. [She] wasn’t late, wasn’t anything. [She] showed up, was game, did the show. I mean, just like super game. I could talk to her about anything.’

In regards to Jennifer – who has canceled her This Is Me…Live tour – performing on stage, Andy added she, ‘puts on a capital S show and she dances the entire time.’

‘It’s like people are mad at her for doing too much. Okay, what’s she supposed to do? Too little?’ he questioned.

Co-host John Hill also called out ‘sick’ trolls for criticizing Lopez, stating, ‘People are mean if they see someone at all doing okay.’

‘They want to rip you apart. [But] she is strong, she is Teflon, she is gorgeous, she knows herself, she is confident.’ 

Earlier this month, Meghan McCain recalled Jennifer’s appearance on The View back in 2019, and claimed that the star had a bigger entourage than the President of the United States. 

‘I actually feel bad right now because I feel like [there’s] bullying happening to JLo and I don’t want to add to that,’ she expressed during an episode of her podcast. 

‘But she just is a deeply unpleasant person. She had the biggest entourage I’ve ever seen of any celebrity. More than Kim Kardashian, more than the President. And I just don’t really understand why it was needed.’

Meghan’s guest, Carlos King, said that he was shocked by her claims due to having good experiences with Jennifer. But Meghan added, ‘JLo does not have a reputation for being a nice, normal person. I’m not exposing [anything].’

Lopez’s documentary, This Is Me…Now: A Love Story, which was released in February was labeled as ‘not good’ by McCain and added her acting ‘has not been great.’ 

‘She needs to humble herself a little bit because she’s getting [hate] all over the internet especially on TikTok.’

Meghan – who co-hosted The View from 2017 through 2021 – continued, ‘There’s a lot of people, like real people, lower level people who work on shows, service workers, waitresses who have really negative stories about her.

‘And again, I just know my experience. I was a host at The View and she was not nice. Whatever, you don’t always have to be nice it was just surprising given that people like Kim Kardashian couldn’t be more delightful.’

‘When you’re coming on a show for a 10-minute segment, just fake it until you make it for 10 minutes.’

A few month earlier in April, McCain shared an episode titled, Why is JLo Flopping So Badly? However, she claimed that a portion that was uploaded to TikTok had been taken down by Jennifer due to ‘bullying.’

‘All I said was that she had a huge entourage and that she was not my favorite guest I’ve ever interviewed. That’s like the direct quote and it was taken down for bullying,’ she said of the clip. 

In the TikTok, the TV personality had also called the singer a ‘PR mess’ and added that she was ‘in her flop era.’ 

But Meghan added, ‘JLo does not have a reputation for being a nice, normal person. I’m not exposing [anything]’; seen on The View in 2018 with McCain above

Cohen’s recent defense of Lopez comes as both she and husband, Ben Affleck, are embroiled in rumors that they are headed for an ‘imminent’ divorce. 

The pair are reportedly living separately with Ben residing at a $100k-a-month rental in Brentwood, and Lopez staying at their $60M mansion.

Most recently, the songstress has been spotted enjoying a solo trip to Italy without Affleck.

During a recent interview on Kevin Hart’s talk show, Hart To Heart, Affleck stated that Jennifer’s fame is ‘bananas’ and recalled a chaotic moment when the couple strolled through Times Square with their children. 

The chat appeared to have taken place shortly before their split speculation came to light. 

‘We went somewhere with [Jennifer] – I can’t remember because she’s so famous, and she creates this – people love her, and she really represents something important to people,’ the Oscar winner stated.

He also explained that sometimes his face naturally doesn’t look happy and added, ‘By the way, I also might be somebody who I do find myself – I’ll be sitting at home, and they’re like, “What’s wrong?”‘

‘I’m like, “Nothing. I’m listening to this thing.” I start thinking, is something wrong?’ Affleck continued.

The comedian then told the actor that there is possibly a cause to his ‘resting b***h face,’ to which Ben humorously replied with, ‘B***h?! Now, now, I have resting hard face.’
