AMD Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” CPUs Listed Online At Much Lower Prices Than Ryzen 7000 MSRPs – 9950X €659, 9900X €499, 9700X €399, 9600X €309

AMD’s next-generation Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” Desktop CPUs have once again been listed online & the pricing is much lower than Ryzen 7000 MSRPs.

AMD Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” Desktop CPUs Could Offer Insane Value On The AM5 Platform Based on Latest Retail Listings, 9950X Is 190 Euros Cheaper Than 7950X’s MSRP

A few days ago, we reported the first retail listings of the AMD Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” Desktop CPUs. Now, a new retailer has listed all four chips including the Ryzen 9 9950X, Ryzen 9 9900X, Ryzen 7 9700X, & the Ryzen 5 9600X which are available for pre-order with availability by 2nd August which is just a few days after the official launch which is planned for the 31st of July.

According to the retail listing by Funtech, all four chips have been listed with their pre-order prices though we cannot confirm if these are official or not. What we can tell is that they seem to be a lot lower than the MSRPs of the Ryzen 7000 “Zen 4” Desktop CPUs at launch so let’s start with the top chips first.

The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X 16-Core CPU is listed for €659.90 which is €190 cheaper than the official MSRP of the Ryzen 9 7950X which sold for €849 at launch. It is also much lower than the €789.99 MSRP of the Ryzen 9 7950X3D during its launch. Surely, both Ryzen 7000 chips have since seen a range of discounts and the same retailer is offering these chips at €600.15 (Ryzen 9 7950X3D) and €550.18 (Ryzen 9 7950X). The pricing is much closer to the discounted rates and that is going to be great for new PC builders who are planning to shift to the Zen 5 CPUs.

Next up, we have the AMD Ryzen 9 9900X 12-Core CPU which is listed at €499.90 and that’s €170 cheaper than the official MSRP of the Ryzen 9 7900X and €180 cheaper than the official MSRP of the Ryzen 9 7900X3D. Once again, that’s a big price drop for the 12-core SKU and it should be very competitive against Intel’s high-end Core i9 offerings.

Moving down the stack, we have the 8-Core AMD Ryzen 7 9700X which is listed for €399.90. This is a €80 lower price point than the Ryzen 9 7900X and €110 cheaper than the official MSRP of Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPUs. Do keep in mind that this CPU might get an update with a higher 120W TDP as we reported here as AMD wants to showcase the performance advantage of Zen 5 in games and by upping the TDP, they might just be able to succeed in their popular 7800X3D which is one of the best selling processors on the market right now.

Finally, we have the Ryzen 5 9600X which is listed for €309.90 and that’s also a €50 drop versus the official MSRP of the Ryzen 5 7600X which retailed at €359. So if we were to compare the retail listed prices versus the official MSRPs of the Ryzen 7000 Desktop CPUs, we can see that there’s a big drop across the board as shown in the table below:

AMD Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” Desktop CPU Listings (Funtech):

CPU Name Listed Price Ryzen 7000 MSRP Ryzen 7000 (Current) Ryzen 7000X3D (MSRP) Ryzen 7000X3D (Current) Versus Predecessor (Non-X3D)
Ryzen 9 9950X €569.90 7950X (€849) €550.18 7950X3D (€789) €600.15 -€190
Ryzen 9 9900X €499.90 7900X (€669) €399.81 7900X3D (€679) €425.25 -€170
Ryzen 7 9700X €399.90 7700X (€479) €331.54 7800X3D (€509) €368.21 -€80
Ryzen 5 9600X €309.90 7600X (€359) €219.12 N/A N/A -€50

  • Ryzen 9 9950X (Listing) vs Ryzen 9 7950X Official MSRP = -32.9%
  • Ryzen 9 9900X (Listing) vs Ryzen 9 7900X Official MSRP = -25.4%
  • Ryzen 7 9700X (Listing) vs Ryzen 7 9700X Official MSRP = -16.7%
  • Ryzen 5 9600X (Listing) vs Ryzen 5 9600X Official MSRP = -13.9%

We know that these prices are still preliminary listings at this moment but if they are anywhere close to indicative of the final MSRPs, then existing and new AM5 PC builders are in for a treat. If would also mean that we can see similar price points for the next-gen Ryzen 9000X3D 3D V-Cache parts which are expected to launch a few months after the “X” launch.

Which AMD Ryzen 9000 Desktop CPU are you excited about the most?
