Amazon Prime Day 2024: Here are 7 easy steps to get the best deals
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Amazon has officially announced Prime Day will return next month to offer exclusive access to its Prime members on some of the best deals of the year.
Prime Day will be held from July 16 to July 17 this year — allowing Prime members to shop the retailer’s lowest prices on select products from a variety of brands.
Like in years past, the shopping event will last for 48 hours — giving consumers plenty of time to score big on deals.
On the East Coast, Prime Day kicks off on July 16 at 3 a.m. and runs through 2:59 a.m. on July 18 for Prime members in the United States.
The e-commerce giant shared 7 easy steps to ensure you get the best deals during Prime Day 2024.
- Become a Prime member
Consumers need to be a Prime member to cash in on the savings.
If you’re not a Prime member yet, anyone can join and start a 30-day free trial at amazon.com/primeday to participate in Prime Day, get access to fast and free shipping, and enjoy entertainment benefits, like Prime Video, Prime Music and more.
Prime members pay an annual membership rate of $139 per year, or $14.99 per month. Prime student members pay $69 per year, or $7.49 per month. EBT and Medicaid recipients can snag a monthly rate of $6.99.
- Set deal notifications
You don’t want to miss out on great deals, so Prime members should subscribe to receive deal-alert notifications related to their recent Amazon searches and recently viewed items. All members have to do is visit the Prime Day event page at amazon.com/primeday on the Amazon app from now through July 17 to create deal alerts.
Once Prime Day starts, you’ll get push notifications on available deals you’ve subscribed to.
- Get help from Alexa
It might be difficult to keep track of deals on your favorite products — but Alexa can help. Alexa can notify you up to 24 hours in advance of a deal being available for eligible items you’ve saved to a wish list, your cart, or in your save-for-later list.
When enabled, you’ll see a yellow ring light or a pop-up notification on your Echo device when there is a deal available.
Ask Alexa to remind you about the deal when it goes live, or ask Alexa to make the purchase when the deal is available by saying, “Alexa, buy it for me.”
- Get the Amazon app
Using the Amazon shopping app will allow quick access to the latest deals. It’s also easy to check in on your order status and get customer support.
- Know your return options
Amazon offers free product support to customers once an item is purchased, such as product setup, product use, or troubleshooting issues. But if something you bought still isn’t right, you can make a return.
Amazon offers free convenient returns on most items delivered in the U.S. Choose from a list of more than 8,000 locations that accept returns.
- Shop ‘Buy With Prime’ deals
There are more ways you can save big during Prime Day — even beyond Amazon.com. You can use the Prime benefit Buy With Prime to shop exclusive Prime Day offers beyond Amazon.com on select brands’ websites. Visit the Buy with Prime page to discover deals.
- Use personalized shopping experiences
Amazon provides personalized recommendations to Prime members based on past purchases, browsing history, and items saved to their lists. These can help you find what you’re looking for when shopping on Prime Day.
