Alaska Airlines, Green to give away 3,000 Alaska Airlines flights, Disneyland tickets to Maui wildfire-impacted families

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Alaska Airlines and Gov. Josh Green held a press conference Wednesday to announce the launch of a travel gift program for Maui wildfire-impacted families.

The program — called Maui CARE Flights — will give more than 3,000 roundtrip Alaska Airlines flights to families.

Alaska Airlines will also be donating Disneyland tickets and accommodations to all the families as well.

“Residents have navigated tragedy and recovery, heartbreak, new schools, communities have relocated, people have been moved about, and it’s been really, really difficult,” Governor Josh Green said.

“We also know if we can provide some positives in people’s lives, it helps them heal.”

“It’s our commitment to Hawaii and Maui to help support the community in recovery,” Alaska Airlines CEO Ben Minicucci said.

Maui County Managing Director and head of the Maui Office of Recovery Josiah Nishita also spoke as well as Marriott International Market Vice President – Hawai’i and French Polynesia Jon Kimball, and Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement Kākoʻo Maui Resource Center Lead and multigenerational Lahaina resident Dustin Kaleiopu.

The first charter flight will head to Disneyland in July, and they will continue giving away an estimated one flight a month till the end of 2025.
